PopAutomate calendar occasions: where do they come from?
The occasions in Calendar are a ready-made list that PopAutomate maintains for 2025, 2026 and 2027. Some of their dates are expected. An occasion alone changes nothing in your store.
Example
Noura opens Calendar a few weeks before Ramadan. Under Upcoming occasions, she sees "Ramadan" and the days left next to it, such as "In 20 days".
She clicks "Ramadan", and its card opens: Religious occasion and its dates, then · Expected next to the Hijri (Islamic calendar) date. Under it: "Expected by Umm Al-Qura calendar, confirmed by moon sighting."
Nothing changes in Noura's store until she clicks Set up an offer and activates the schedule.

How occasions and their dates are set
Every occasion has a type, shown on its card:
| Type | How we set the date |
|---|---|
| National occasion: Founding Day, Flag Day, National Day | A fixed date every year |
| Religious occasion: Ramadan, Last 10 Days, Eid Al-Fitr, Day of Arafah, Eid Al-Adha, Islamic New Year | Calculated from the Umm Al-Qura calendar, and shown as Expected |
| Shopping season: End of Season Sales, Back to School, 11.11 Offers, White Friday | The usual market days |
- Expected means the date may change. It appears on every religious occasion, and on End of Season Sales, Back to School and White Friday.
- Under an expected date, the card gives the reason: "Expected by Umm Al-Qura calendar, confirmed by moon sighting.", "Each store sets its own dates. These are the usual market days.", or "Approximate. Check Ministry of Education calendar."
- Calendar shows no occasions before 2025 or after 2027.
- The days of Last 10 Days are colored in the calendar, but it does not appear under Upcoming occasions.
- A check mark next to an occasion means you have a schedule that is not a draft and runs during the occasion, even if you paused it. Without one, an empty circle appears.
- The Reminder label next to Occasion at the top of Calendar only explains the color of an occasion. It is not the reminder button.
The Payday tag
On a computer, the word Payday appears on the 27th of every month. It marks the day government salaries are paid. When you hover over it, the tooltip also reads "Payday".
The tag is for your information only and changes nothing in your store. Clicking it opens nothing at the moment, and it does not appear on your phone. For the other marks in the calendar, see PopAutomate Calendar guide: occasions and schedules.
