A schedule did not run on time: why and how to fix it

Open the schedule and read the banner at the top. It gives the reason, and a button to fix it when there is one.

What you see

  • The schedule status is Disabled, and Run history has a run marked Didn't run.
  • A Didn't run banner at the top of the schedule page, with one of these messages under it: "We found no products for it. They may have been deleted or the category is empty.", "The schedule is incomplete, so we can't start it. Check its settings.", "It failed twice in a row, so we stopped it. Fix the cause and turn it back on.", "We couldn't start the run. Open the last run to see why."
  • Under the run in Run history: "Didn't start: the store wasn't connected at the time." or "Didn't start: the schedule wasn't ready at the time."
  • On Home, a red card with the schedule name, such as "This schedule is incomplete and can't run. Finish the missing steps." or "It didn't run. Open the log to see why."
  • In the bell: "«Schedule name» didn't run".
  • When you click Run it now: "Your store is busy with another run, or another schedule is queued. Try again in a moment." or "A run for this schedule is already going. Wait for it to finish."
  • An email with the subject "«اسم الجدولة» فشلت" ("“Schedule name” failed"), if the failure alert is on. PopAutomate emails to Salla and Zid stores are in Arabic.

Why it happens

PopAutomate starts every schedule within about a minute of its time, unless something stops it. What stops it: a store that is busy with another run, a lost connection, or a schedule that has no products, is incomplete or is paused.

Fix

The time is close, or the run is still going

  1. Wait two minutes after the scheduled time, then refresh the schedule page.
  2. If the status is Running, the run has started. PopAutomate changes the products one by one, which takes about 10 minutes per 100 products.

Your store is busy with another run

PopAutomate runs one schedule at a time in your store. The other schedule waits its turn and starts on its own after the current run finishes.

  1. Open Schedules and look for a schedule that is Running.
  2. Wait until it finishes. You do not need to click anything on the waiting schedule.
  3. If you clicked Run it now and saw "Your store is busy…", try again after the other run finishes.

The store connection is lost

You may see "Didn't start: the store wasn't connected at the time.", or the red "Your connection to … has been lost." banner. You may also see "Didn't start: the schedule wasn't ready at the time." when the cause is a lost connection. Check the connection first.

  1. Open Settings > Store & timezone, and check that the connection shows Connected.
  2. If it does not, reconnect your store with the steps in Store disconnected and schedules paused: how to reconnect.

The schedule is incomplete

  1. Open the schedule and click Edit.
  2. Complete the missing step, such as the products or the time.
  3. Click Save changes.

The schedule has no products

If you see "We found no products for it…":

  1. Click Choose products in the banner.
  2. Choose products that exist in your store.
  3. Click Save changes.

Details in Empty category: the schedule found no products in it.

It failed twice in a row, so PopAutomate stopped it

When a repeating schedule fails twice in a row, PopAutomate stops it. Its status becomes Disabled, and it does not run on its own after that.

  1. Open the schedule, then the last run in Run history, and read the reason for each product.
  2. Fix the cause. The reasons and their fixes are in Some products did not change after a schedule ran.
  3. Click Activate at the top of the schedule, or Turn back on on the Home card.

The schedule is a draft or paused

A Draft schedule does not run until you activate it, and neither does a Paused one.

  1. Open the schedule from Schedules.
  2. For a paused schedule, click Activate at the top of the page.
  3. For a draft, click Continue and enable, then Save changes. The schedule turns on, and if it starts Now, it runs in your store right away.

If the start time has passed, change the time before you activate. A one-time schedule whose time has passed runs within about a minute after you click Activate.

The reason is not clear

If you see "We couldn't start the run. Open the last run to see why.":

  1. Open the last run in Run history and read the line under it.
  2. Check the connection in Settings > Store & timezone.
  3. Click Activate or Run it now, whichever button is there.

Still stuck?
