Wrong discount price in your store: causes and fixes
On Zid, every option takes the main product's sale price. Also check the product's earlier sale price, and other schedules on the same products.
On Zid, with Percentage (%) and Fixed amount (SAR), every option takes the main product's sale price. If the options have different prices, use Final offer price.
What you see
- The sale price in your store is lower or higher than the price you saw in Review before you turn it on.
- Or one of the product's options has a sale price that does not fit its own price.
- Or the sale price is higher than an earlier sale price the product had.
Why it happens
PopAutomate works out the sale price at run time from the product's original price in your store, and writes it as the product's sale price. So the price differs from what you expected when:
- A Salla schedule was saved earlier with a percentage below 1%.
- The product on Zid has options with different prices.
- The product had an earlier sale price, or its price changed after you saved.
- Another schedule changed the same products at the same time.
- You chose two categories that share a product, with a price change by a percentage or an amount.
Fix
A percentage below 1%
PopAutomate accepts a percentage from 1 to 99 only, on Salla and Zid. If you enter less than 1%, you see "Enter a percentage from 1 to 99. A percentage below 1% isn't accepted." and the schedule is not saved.
If you have a Salla schedule saved earlier with a percentage below 1%, fix the percentage in it:
- Click Edit on the schedule page.
- Under What happens?, change the number next to Percentage (%) to a number from 1 to 99.
- Check the prices in Review before you turn it on, then click Save changes.
If the schedule starts Now and its status is Offer Active, saving the new percentage runs it in your store again with the right number. If it is Completed, Ended or Failed, PopAutomate only saves the edit and does not run it. You see "Edit saved. We didn't run it in your store again because it already ran. …". To apply the new number, click Duplicate and activate the copy.
A product with options on Zid
With Percentage (%) or Fixed amount (SAR), every option takes the same sale price as the main product. So the more expensive option sells for less than it should. With Final offer price, PopAutomate takes the same percentage off each option's own price.
- Click Edit on the schedule page.
- Under What happens?, choose Final offer price and enter the sale price for the main product.
- Or, under Which products?, choose products whose options all have the same price.
This only affects Zid. On Salla, PopAutomate does not send option prices, and writes the discount on the product itself.
The product had an earlier sale price, or its price changed
- PopAutomate works out the discount from the original price, not from an existing sale price. So if a product costs 100 SAR with a sale price of 80 SAR, a 10% discount makes it 90 SAR.
- The discount replaces the earlier sale price, and the earlier sale price does not come back after the offer.
- The prices in Review before you turn it on are worked out when you save. If you change the original price after that, PopAutomate works out the discount from the new price.
- With Final offer price: if you lower the original price below your offer price after you save, the sale price ends up higher than the original price.
If you want a bigger discount than an earlier sale price:
- Click Edit on the schedule page.
- Under What happens?, choose Final offer price and enter the price yourself.
- Click Save changes.
Two schedules on the same products
If two schedules change the same product at the same time, the changes from the schedule that ran last stay. PopAutomate only warns you in the builder: "Same products are in … at the same time."
- Open Schedules and look for another schedule on the same products.
- Change the time of one of them, pause it, or remove the shared products from it.
If you chose Tiered discount, the price changes at each step, as you set it.
The product is in two of the categories you chose
If you chose more than one category and a product is in two of them, it changes twice in the same run.
- With Discount, the sale price does not change, because PopAutomate works it out from the original price each time.
- With Change Price by a percentage or an amount, the change applies twice on Salla: a 10% increase becomes 21%. On Zid it may also apply twice.
Do not use a price change by a percentage or an amount on two categories that share products:
- Click Edit on the schedule page.
- Under Which products?, choose Products instead of categories.
- Click Save changes.
