Fix "We couldn't do that" when you click a schedule button

Most often the schedule's status changed after you opened the page, so the button no longer fits. Refresh the page, check the schedule's status, then try again.

If you see a message that gives the reason instead of "We couldn't do that", look it up in the Fix section below.

What you see

  • You click a button such as Run it now, Restore or Pause. A short message appears at the bottom of the screen and nothing happens.
  • On the schedule page, you may see "We couldn't do that. Try again." or a message with the reason, such as "The offer isn't live right now."
  • On Home and Schedules, you always see "We couldn't do that. Try again.", whatever the reason.
  • On the Calendar, you also always see "We couldn't do that. Try again.", whatever the reason.

Why it happens

Before PopAutomate carries out any button, it checks that the schedule's status allows it right now. If it does not, PopAutomate refuses the request and changes nothing in your store. This usually happens when:

  • The page stayed open for a while and the status changed on its own, for example the offer ended or a run started.
  • You changed the schedule from another device or window.
  • Another run is working on your store at the same moment.

Home, Schedules and the Calendar do not show the reason, so open the schedule page itself.

Fix

Refresh the page and try from the schedule page

  1. Refresh the page in your browser.
  2. Open the schedule from Schedules and check its status and the buttons it shows now. The buttons depend on the status.
  3. Click the button again on the schedule page. If it is refused, look up the message with the reason below.

What each status and button means: Schedule page guide: every button, status and run.

If you see "We couldn't do that." after Delete, the schedule did not move to Deleted. Refresh the page and try again.

If you see it after Retry on a restore run, that button does not work on a restore. Click Restore at the top of the page instead, so PopAutomate restores the products that are left. PopAutomate also retries the restore on its own, after 15 minutes, then 1 hour, then 6 hours.

If you see it after Restore anyway on a normal run, that button only works on a restore run. To restore a product this run skipped, change it yourself in your Salla or Zid dashboard.

The status does not allow this button

MessageWhat it means and what to do
"The offer isn't live right now."The offer has ended or has not started, so there is nothing to end. Refresh the page.
"The schedule isn't active."The schedule is already paused, or it is still a draft, so you cannot pause it.
"The schedule isn't paused."The schedule is already active, so it does not need Activate.
"No run is going."The run finished before you clicked Stop execution. Open Run history and check the result.
"A run for this schedule is already going. Wait for it to finish."Wait until the run finishes, then try again.
"Your store is busy with another run, or another schedule is queued. Try again in a moment."Another schedule is working on your store right now. Wait a few minutes, then try again.
"Reconnect your store first."Your store is disconnected. Reconnect it, then try again.

To reconnect, read Store disconnected and schedules paused: how to reconnect. If your store stays busy for a long time, read A schedule did not run on time: why and how to fix it.

The schedule is a draft

If you see "A draft doesn't run until you activate it.", the schedule is saved as a draft and will not run until you activate it.

  1. Click Activate on the schedule page. The schedule steps open.
  2. Check the time under When?, then click Save changes on the Review & activate step. PopAutomate activates the schedule when you save. If it starts Now, it runs right away.

The schedule is paused

If you see "The schedule is paused. Turn it on first." after Run it now, the schedule is Paused, or it stopped after a problem.

  1. Click Activate on the schedule page.
  2. Once it is Scheduled, click Run it now if you want it to run now.

Stop execution also pauses the schedule. If you clicked it earlier, activate the schedule again.

A restore is running

MessageWhat it means and what to do
"A restore is already going."You clicked End offer now and the restore had already started. Wait until it finishes.
"The restore is waiting for another run on your store to finish."After Restore: this is not a problem. The restore starts on its own after the other run on your store.
"A run for this schedule is already going. Wait for it to finish."After Restore: the run has not finished. Wait, then click Restore.

Follow the restore in Run history on the schedule page.

Nothing is left to restore

MessageWhat it means
"Nothing is left to restore."Every product is already restored, nothing changed, or PopAutomate skipped the products because they changed in your store after the run.
"There are no products to retry."After Retry: there are no failed products that can be retried.

Open the last run in Run history to see what changed and what was restored. If a product is still not the way you want, change it in your Salla or Zid dashboard.

This kind of change cannot be restored

If you see "This kind of change can't be restored.", the schedule is a type for which PopAutomate keeps no earlier state, such as End Discount.

To undo what it changed, edit the products in your Salla or Zid dashboard, or create a new schedule that reverses the change. What is restored and what is not: Restoring prices after an offer: what comes back?.
